Balances Tab. Functionality is described under the Tab Image.

This Tab is used to track your balances over time. It reflects your investment progress.
Functionality
This tab is used to analyze your balances and progress over time. Step option allows you to display balances for each day, each week, month or year.
E.g. if you want to see your balances on the 4th day of each month - select the "From" date as the 4th of the month you want to start
then select "To" date as the month you want it up to and then choose "Month" as the step.
Columns Meaning:
  • Date - is the date of the balance;
  • Manual - if balance was entered manually for that date this column displays it, otherwise it is empty. See more details below.
  • Saved on Open - balance at the open of the date. It was calculated automatically and then saved to the database:
    you have an option to recalculate balances as often as you need if new information comes along: e.g. missing stocks quotes for that date.
  • Saved on Close - balance at the close of the day. It was calculated automatically and then saved to the database:
    you have an option to recalculate balances as often as you need if new information comes along: e.g. missing stocks quotes for that date.
    Saved Pos - text representing number of the positions on open, intraday and close. e.g. "3.5.0" means that you had 3 positions on open, 5 intraday and none on close.
  • Calc. on Open - shown if "Recalculate balances" is marked. It represents balance at the open of the date recalculated during current load.
  • Calc. on Close - shown if "Recalculate balances" is marked. It represents balance at the close of the date recalculated during current load.
  • Delta Calc. - Difference between the balance value at the Open and Close of the date.
  • Pos - text representing number of the positions on open, intraday and close. e.g. "3.5.0" means that you had 3 positions on open, 5 intraday and none on close.
Where the data come from:
  • The data displayed in this Tab come and stored as different sources.
    Balances can be entered/updated manually using the balance details panel in the left bottom corner and/or
    they are calculated automatically based on your transactions and using quotes for the stocks.
    You can recalculate automatic balances as often as you want by marking checkbox "Recalculate balances" in the top right corner.

    • Ability to enter balances Manually is a helpful option for the accounts for which you have older statement and not transactions themselves.

    • If data to calculate automatic balances is missing for a specific date - "Missing info" button will be active.
      When you click it the dialog appears (see below) where you can enter missing data manually.
      They will be applied and stored in the database.
      If both "Price Open" and "Price Close" are missing - then both fields are enabled in the dialog, otherwise only required field is active.




    • Calculating automated balances could be time consuming, so after they are calculated you are provided with the option
      to save them to the database. Next time program is opened they will show in the columns "Saved on Open", "Saved on Close" .

    • For each day you can see display your positions on Open, Intraday and on Close:. Here is the Grid that displays intraday positions:



    • "Save to File" button on this Dialog provides you with an option to save grid data to the comma delimited file.
      Be careful - If file already exists it will override it without the prompt.
      This comma delimited file then can be imported into the Excel
