Requirements:
  • Internet access to activate trial period. If you have not registered yet, register here (it is very fast and free). You will need your registered user name and password to activate free trial.
  • This software is written in Java and requires Java runtime of 1.5 or higher. Most computers already have it installed. If your system does not yet run Java you can download it from the Java website at www.java.com.

  • We have tested our software on the Windows operating systems. Other operating systems are not fully tested yet.
Install:
  • Double click the file you downloaded: Setup_TheFifthAnimal.exe.   Follow the screen prompts:
Choose the destination folder. Check mark the box "Launch The Fifth Animal Tab Applicaiton now.". It will launch and initialize the Applicaiton right after install:
When you press "Finish" the Applicaton will launch itself and will initialize its components:
  • Choose an icon you would like to use with your Application. By clicking different icons you can see how they look in the corner of the window. Press "OK"
  • Application will prompt you with the screen to select database type and choose 3rd party components (if any):
  • Make your choices. If installing Thomson Reuters DataLink copy and save Key so that you can easily input it during next steps. Thomson Reuters installation process will prompt you with its own screens that will start with the following window:
  • Wait till the Application initializes all its components. The status will be flashing in the bottom of the splash screen.
  • When done the following screen with message will be displayed (continue reading under the image):
  • Press "OK". The first visible Tab is the "CONTROL"  Tab. Now you need to activate the Trial period:
  • Type your UserName and Password - the same ones you used when registering at our website. And press "Connect" . The Application will connect to the server and activates it. Your Expiry date will appear in the green text box with the "Expiry date" label.
  • If you don't activate your Application on the first run you can do it at any other time, but until then only free Tabs will be available and other Tabs will be in the Hidden mode. If you want to use only free Tabs, delete paid Tabs from the Tab List. To access Tab List use "Tab List" button in the top right corner of the Application. There you can also rename Tabs’ headings to suit your preference.
  • The following icon will be placed on your Desktop:
  • To run the Applicaiton double click the icon. After the Application starts you can close the command prompt window.
  • Go to "How To" to read how to add more custom panels or use the added ones.
